The sofa typology has been intentionally reduced to simple blocks, but has a particular and distinguishable feature – a subtle irregularity.
The sofa system consists of six seating elements, allowing for a wide variety of sofa constellations. The units are basic by themselves, but put together, a small but clear size difference becomes apparent. The seat and back planes are always in line but other dimensions of the backrests – depths, heights – vary by a few centimetres.
The result is a sofa that carries the personality of a human object. Like the handcrafted item that is nearly perfect, but not quite. Another image is the natural displacements in a stone wall. In either case – the beauty lies in the imperfection.
