As a starting point for Sierra, Richard, the owner of Dune, mentioned that he liked the angular language present in our architectural projects, and asked us if we felt it was possible to translate it in to furniture. The resulting computer-generated geometry in the Sierra pieces is extremely complicated – maybe more complicated than any other pieces on the market – and required considerable manufacturing skills from the Dune carpenters to pull it off. In our opinion, the workmanship in the finished pieces exceeds that which the Italians can manage today.

Because of the slightly “geological” appearance of the pieces, we thought that Sierra would be a good name. Richard agreed.
