There is a function to everything.

When introducing the national TV prize Kristallen (Sweden’s equivalent to the Emmy Award) a statuette was called for.

The brief was simple: it should fit the grip of one hand, and in size, weight and proportion make you want to raise your arm like in a gesture of victory.

It is made of mouth blown Swedish crystal glass with streaks of coloured glass inside – or else it would not be visible in the TV media format.

Each year has a new colour.
